I have a two-year-old daughter who watches Disney Jr. pretty much all-day long. Now before all the hater moms jump on me and say “well that’s too much TV time” keep in mind the TV is on in the background while she jumps around playing with her toys, reading books and completely terrorizing the house. Also keep in mind I really don’t care about your opinion on TV time for my child.
We've all been there. You and your friends walk into a crowded bar with expectations of a great and memorable night. Your friends grab a table and you saunter up to the counter to place your order only to notice that the bartender is not only busy, but has that frazzled look of someone asked to do ten more push-ups after they’ve already collapsed in exhaustion. How can you get service from someone so obviously not paying attention to you? What should you do to stand out among the throng of people in the same predicament? There’s no need to panic. I’m here to help.
Bipolar disorder isn’t being full of drive and excitement about your passions, but then you hit a setback and boom – you feel sad, hate yourself, and lose all your self-esteem. Bipolar disorder isn’t feeling like a pathetic loser, but the minute something great happens, you suddenly feel like you’re on top of the world. Bipolar disorder isn’t about being emotionally reactive, being super moody, or having fast moving emotions that swing from one end of the spectrum to the other the instant something happens to you.
As much as we don’t like anxiety or when our body goes into fight or flight mode, our body does those things for a reason. Anxiety says, “be careful! We don’t want that bad thing to happen.” Fight or flight mode is our body going into crisis mode to try to keep ourselves safe from serious harm or death.
When you ask someone, "what are your fitness goals?" most of the general population will respond with, "Look good. Feel good." There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good. Having a healthy body generally means your body will look good, and having great health is something everyone can get behind.
I'm delighted you're here.
This website is dedicated to my own personal exploration but will include contributors as well. The goal of this is to provide a place where you can follow along with my journey as I learn more about the human mind, body and spirit, as well as everything else in this world that interests me. My brain is lit up with curiosity right now and I'm prepared to learn and grow as a person, with you all by my side.
Things could get messy, but I'm grateful you've decided to enter the Mind of Snaps.
Thank you for being a part of this exciting new chapter. I look forward to getting to know myself and you better.
All my love and support,
